MAS Youth Center Childhood committee - MYCCC

Has anyone ever hear of a committee that needed to have consist of many qualifications such as, child psychology, social worker, teacher, photography, movie director, theatrical play, art, patience, and love for children combined together to form a committee? Well the MYCCC is just the committee with such qualifications and more.

The MAS Youth Center Childhood Committee. {The MYCCC}. You will find everyone that works with in this committee has the energy as well as the big heart of child, but with the brains of Einstein. The MYCCC has started from scratch to build its self up and make itself successful. In this committee the children are viewed like the seeds that are planted, in which the committee is the sunshine and the water that needs to help them grow into strong trees. It’s a committee that has goals to make these children happy. This committee believes that the children are our future.

This committee consists of three people Sheikh ElBachir, {the President} Sr.Huda Z. {Vice President} and Sr.Fatmeh A. the coordinator and secretary}.This committee focuses on a child as a whole and how they can be able to benefit them and make them successful Muslims.

If you ask what makes this committee so strong, it is because the people with in the committee are very much connected to their work.

Sheikh ElBachir: his name speaks for its self. He is the President of the committee. He is the brains of the committee because he brings Islamic knowledge to the committee. One learns a lot from his love to the children. In addition he is very well known for his amazing voice in Quran and Nasheed (Islamic songs). As for Sr.Huda Z, the Vice President, she is the heart of the childhood committee. She brings great smiles and joy to the children. She is very talented in arts & crafts and is always there with her energy and big heart.

Sr.Fatmeh A. is the coordinator and the secretary of the committee. She is the hands of the committee, either thru writing the reports or the activities that need to take place. She is basically the one that runs the show that takes place on Fridays and Saturdays.

Almost 70% percent of the MAS Youth Center involves the childhood committee. On every Friday and Saturday the MYCCC provides "Fun Time" for the children at the MAS Youth Center. This program targets the children’s well being and happiness. Each week there are different activities with different themes to help build the inner child into a stronger character.

This committee is based on team work and open communication as well as respect for one another. Even though each one has a different responsibility, in the end, the result is benefiting the child
